Downie
Downie is a seasoned vocalist and songwriter with a wide range, able to write in and sing all genres of music with emotional depth and creativity.
Downie comes from a musical family. Her grandparents met while her grandmother was playing piano in a honky tonk bar band. Her mother played many instruments and she grew up singing in school choirs with her older sister and her other siblings play instruments as well.
Downie's first instrument is voice and she is a classically trained soprano. She plays piano and guitar and recently has been playing on some of her own track instrumentals. Along with her love of performing, songwriting, arranging and recording, Downie loves teaching music. She has been a music teacher in K-12 in the States and abroad, a choir director and private voice coach.
Her music has been played in Grand Rapids, Lansing, Seattle, San Diego, Las Vegas, Jackson. New Orleans, Pensacola, Boston, Baltimore, Ft. Collins, Memphis, Houston, Scranton, Phoenix, Huntsville, Milwaukee, Wichita KA, St. Louis, and Los Angeles.
Downie has performed live on air at WJRW on Local Spins with John Sinkevics, WGVU, WYCE, WPMD with TEE-M on the unsigned music show in Los Ceritos, California and on the Dennis Bono Show Live in Las Vegas.
